Location: Parker — 80134, 80138 — in-home & community-based
Type: Full-time / Part-time / PRN· Hourly
Pay: $20–$24/hour
Schedule: -Monday-Friday-Sunday / day/evenings / weekends — flexible shifts available]
Reports to: Care Coordinator / RN Supervisor
Position summary
The Disabilities Caregiver (Personal Care Worker or Certified Nursing Assistant) provides in-home personal care, supervision, and daily-living support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities. Working one-on-one under an individualized care/service plan, the caregiver helps each client live safely, comfortably, and as independently as possible in their own home and community. This is a hands-on, relationship-centered role where dependability and compassion matter most — paid training is provided, and both PCW and CNA candidates are encouraged to apply.
Essential duties & responsibilities
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, feeding, and mobility/transfers
Support instrumental ADLs: meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands
Provide safe transfers and positioning; use assistive/adaptive equipment as trained (Slide board, or Hoyer lift, gait belt, wheelchair)
Offer companionship and encourage social, recreational, and community activities
Provide medication reminders and, for CNAs, delegated tasks within scope and per the plan of care
Observe, document, and promptly report changes in the client's condition, behavior, or environment
Follow the individualized service/care plan and complete accurate, timely visit documentation
Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment; honor each client's privacy, preferences, and rights
Communicate consistently with the family and care team
Qualifications
Required (all candidates):
18 years or older
Compassion, patience, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
Physically able to lift, transfer, and assist clients and to stand/move throughout a shift
Reliable transportation; valid Colorado driver's license and auto insurance (for community shifts)
Ability to pass a criminal background check (CBI/fingerprint) and pre-employment screening
Current (or willing to obtain) CPR/First Aid and a negative TB test
Role-specific:
PCW track: No certification required — on-the-job training and orientation provided
CNA track: Active, unencumbered Colorado CNA certification in good standing
Preferred:
Experience with IDD/DD populations, HCBS waiver services, or personal care
DSP, QMAP, or HHA experience; behavioral or nonverbal-communication support experience
Physical & work environment
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting/transferring (up to 240 lbs with or without assistance)
Work performed in clients' private homes and community settings; exposure to typical caregiving conditions (bodily fluids, cleaning agents) with provided PPE
Compensation & benefits
Pay: Pay: $20–$24/hour
